About Go Safe Glasgow

The Go Safe Glasgow Road Safety Partnership brings together a wealth of experience and includes representatives from Glasgow City Council, Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and Glasgow Community and Safety Services. We are working together, sharing ideas and exploring new avenues of service delivery, but more importantly we share the same objective – to reduce casualties on Glasgow’s Roads and to make our communities safer for all. The partnership is led by Glasgow City Council’s Traffic and Road Safety Development Section and the city also provides the secretariat function for the partnership.

The Partnership is for the benefit of all road users – drivers, cyclists, those who drive for work and our most vulnerable citizens, such as children and older people.

We aim to deliver an exciting programme of campaigns within our communities and although our focus is on education and changing behaviour we do call upon Police Scotland to assist where necessary with enforcement. We look at addressing specific issues to Glasgow, such as older pedestrians, but as we tackle one issue we need to remain focused on the overall statistical trend and concerns within our neighbourhoods.

This website www.gosafeglasgow.com will provide a first stop shop to showcase all that is happening within the partnership as well as news and events. It is intended that the site will grow as the Go Safe Partnership grows and together we will make Glasgow’s roads safer for everyone.
