Please give a few details about your training day
When schools commit to deliver Bikeability Level 2 on road, there are services available from the Road Safety Team free of charge to encourage children to take part. These include access to a Bike Loan Scheme, Bike Swap, Dr Bike sessions and free cycle helmets.
Bike loan scheme |
The Bike Loan Scheme enables children who do not have a bike to borrow one for the duration of the cycle training. The Bike Station will deliver the bikes requested, to the school and collect them after the training is completed.
Bike swap |
The Bike swap Scheme enables pupils to swap their bike which is perhaps too small for them or a bike which is in need of repair.
Dr Bike |
The Bike Station will send a mobile mechanic to your school to service pupils’ bikes. Most minor problems can be fixed on the spot, with more major problems diagnosed and a bike "MOT" provided. Dr Bikes are used by a variety of organisations to promote regular cycling and to reward cyclists.
Free helmets |
Free cycle helmets are available to pupils who do not have one. They will be allowed to keep the helmets after the training is completed.
